Tokia is located temporarily in
the Covered Court of Plaza Luz in the corner of Vincencio Sagun St. and Araullo
St. They were located before in front of Saint Columban College near the Postal
Office. Their soon to be permanent location (under construction) is located
near the corner of Fatima Funeral Homes near Gaisano Mall and Cut Salon. The
diner is comfortably spacious with lots of tables.
The main best seller of this
eatery is their “Pastil” (Rice wrapped up in banana leaves topped with shredded chicken
or beef ) which is worth P25.00 each and what makes it so delectable is the
chili-oil which is perfectly spicy and makes you devour the Pastil in no time. You
may opt for Chicken Pastil or Beef Pastil by asking their food attendant for it's availability.
The second best seller is their
barbeque for only P10.00 per stick and is good as a
complement or as a viand for the Pastil. What I love about this barbeque is that
you may opt to have it spicy which flavor is unique in this eatery.
The third best seller is their
chicken and adobo pork pancit for only P95.00 which is affordable considering
that their serving is already good for two people. The owner once shared that this is their homemade pancit miki.
Other foods they offered are
Arroz Caldo with adobong manok and egg for P35.00 and Batchoy. Unfortunately,
these two aren’t always available.
Tokia accepts deliveries right
from your doorstep too and they are open from Mondays to Sundays. Closing time
is until 9:00 pm or until their supplies last. During Sundays, they usually
open the eatery around 12:00 noon or 1:30 pm (it depends). Sometimes it’s
really depressing finding out they’re not opening every Sunday mornings. Anyway, you
may check their Facebook page for more information.
Summary
To sum it up, I love eating at
this place because I love the pansit and all the other spicy foods, or rather I
like their unique recipe for the spiciness in their products which is perfectly
balanced, not too spicy but spicy enough that makes you gobble fast your Tokia
meals. One thing I find it disappointing is they always run out of Pastil. It
must be really hard to keep up with their growing customers.
