Location
Raymund’s Mountain Resort is located at Brgy. Bulatok, Pagadian City. The best way to arrive at the resort is to go through the diversion road coming from the national highway at Tiguma. You make a right turn upon reaching the SMART-PLDT building at the junction. Along the way you pass upon the landmark of an elementary public school beside the waiting shed of Purok Malipayon. You’ll know you are heading on the right direction when you go through an un-cemented road therefore it is not good for sedan-type vehicles and is recommended that you bring off-road type vehicles or motorcycles. The terrain is quite sloping after passing the un-cemented road and going through the two subdivisions up ahead. You don’t have to worry since there are lots of signs pointing you to the right direction. Then proceed until you reach Vettalea Subdivision Phase 2 and go through said subdivision to reach the resort. You’ll notice the resort right away because of the large signage.
Resort
You’ll be welcomed upon entering the establishment by the service staff. You’ll be amazed with the size of the place and there is a wide parking space. The customer desk is just near the entrance and parking space and is easily visible and conveniently approachable. The staff is warmly responsive and hospitable.
Pool
They have two pools, one for the kids and the other for the adults, which is enclosed by a protective fence and the kids can’t easily go into the adults’ pool. You may take a dip at only P75.00 pesos for adults and P50 for kids but they are quite strict in their swimming attire which should only be made of nylon or lycra and clothing made up of denim or cotton is absolutely prohibited. There’s also no lifeguard attending the pool therefore children must be accompanied by adults all the time. Bringing of food prepared elsewhere is also prohibited. They are the only one within Pagadian City with a pool that has a winding slide which is quite long and even the kid’s pool has its own slide. Their pool is luxuriously large and deep enough. Around the pool there are ornamental dolphin and rock statues that serves as fountain which makes the pool comparative to pools found in larger cities. Since this is the only pool within Pagadian that is with ornamental statues, it would be nice to take pictures or selfies here. If you want to take a break from swimming there is a videoke machine available for your entertainment. There is no need to worry about running out of chairs and tables because they have numerous roofed cottages complete with lighting when it gets dark.
Other Amenities
The establishment also accepts catering services and may accommodate weddings, conferences, birthdays, reunions and all other occasions. They have a large function hall suitable for any event and private KTV rooms for barkada gatherings. Guests who desire to avail of a room or stay the night has two options, either the room good for two or the other one for a family. The family room is P2,000.00 plus and the one good for two is P799.00. Weary guests may also get relaxed by availing the massage service.
Summary
The location is inconveniently a little too isolated for my taste and there is no ready public transportation therefore the only way to get there is either by bringing your own vehicle or contracting(pakyaw) a driver to wait for you like a tricycle driver. During rainy season the road to get there would get dangerous because it may either get slippery due to the mud; therefore it is advisable to visit the place during dry summer days.
We found out that the reason behind their strictness on swimwear is because they don’t regularly change the water. When we got there the water is murky with lots of floating dirt while the kid’s pool has been drained of water. We highly suggest that you contact the resort first before deciding to come over and make sure that the water is newly changed.
